Bristol Airport (IATA: BRS) is located in North Somerset about 13 km (8 miles) from Bristol’s city centre. It is the ninth busiest airport in the UK, handling over 8 million passengers in 2017. The airport handles both domestic and international flights with the majority of the international flights within Europe. Bristol Airport has a single runway and is a three-floor terminal that includes the ground, first and mezzanine floors. Check-in and arrivals are on the ground floor and departures on the first floor. There are no jet bridges and therefore passengers have to walk up to board or walk down to disembark from the plane. Ground transport from Bristol Airport includes express buses, coaches, taxis and car rentals.

EasyJet and Ryanair are the main carriers operating scheduled and seasonal flights to various locations including many popular holiday destinations in Europe. Thomas Cook and TUI Airways are the main airlines operating seasonal flights. The Airport Flyer Express bus service departs every 10 minutes from Bristol Airport to Bristol’s city centre, Bristol Temple Meads railway station and Bristol Bus & Coach Station (30 mins). You can easily connect to the National Rail network from Bristol Temple Meads to various destinations in the UK including Cardiff, Cornwall and London. There’s also an Airport Flyer service departing every hour to Worle, Congresbury and the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare (45 mins).
National Express operates coaches (long distance bus) from the airport to Bristol Bus & Coach Station, Cardiff and Newport. At the station, you can transfer to other National Express coaches to many destinations across the UK. The Stagecoach’s Falcon Service departs from the airport to Plymouth, Exeter and Taunton. If you prefer a taxi, there are taxis waiting directly in front of the arrivals area. Car rental companies here include Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and National.
