Exeter Airport, England

Exeter Airport (IATA: EXT) is located in the county of Devon in South West England. The airport is about 7 km (4 miles) from Exeter and about 270 km (70 miles) southwest of London. Exeter Airport is close to the M5 motorway, which has good links with locations in South West England and the Midlands. The airport is the headquarters and primary maintenance facility for regional airline Flybe. It’s a medium size airport comprising of a single passenger terminal and handled over 900,000 passengers in 2017. Though a medium size airport, there are several services and facilities for the convenience of the passengers. Ground transport from Exeter Airport includes buses, taxis and car rentals.

Flybe and TUI Airways are the main airlines operating at Exeter Airport. Flybe operates scheduled flights to Alicante, Amsterdam, Belfast, Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Guernsey, Jersey, London, Malaga, Manchester, Newcastle upon Tyne, Norwich and Paris. Flybe also operates seasonal flights to Bergerac, Chambery, Faro, Geneva, Palma de Mallorca, Rennes and Southampton. TUI Airways operates flights to many holiday destinations in Europe including scheduled flights to Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife and seasonal flights to Corfu, Dalaman, Faro, Ibiza, Larnaca, Menorca, Palma de Mallorca, Paphos, Rhodes, Kittila and Kiruna.

Airport Facilities

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available for up to 60 minutes in the departure lounge and premium lounge. To connect, select the 'Free Arqiva WiFi' network. If you need access after the period, the charge is £3 per hour. Travelex operates a foreign currency exchange desk located in the check-in hall, where you can change many major currencies including the euro and US dollar. Travelex also operates ATMs in the check-in hall dispensing euro and pound sterling currencies.

We Make is a cafe located in the main concourse (before security) and offers a nice selection of sandwiches, snacks, soft drinks and a range of coffee. Food outlets in the departure area (after security) include Fed & Watered Wine & Dine offering hot and cold meals and The Fed & Watered Cafe Bar offering hot and cold snacks as well a coffee menu. WHSmith has an outlet before and another after security where you can purchase magazines, newspapers, confectionery, snacks and drinks. There is also World Duty Free offering items for less than the high street prices. There is a premium lounge for travellers wishing to relax before their flight.

Ground Transport

Stagecoach operates bus no. 56 and 56A travelling on different routes departing from Exeter Airport to Exeter. Both routes stop at Exeter Bus Station in the city centre and end their journeys at Exeter St Davids railway station, the main railway station in the city. Apple Central Taxis is the official taxi and minicab provider at Exeter Airport. Its customer desk is located in the arrivals area. Car rental companies at the airport include Avis, Budget, Europcar and Hertz.
