Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Scotland
Glasgow Prestwick Airport (IATA: PIK) is about 2 km (1.2 miles) north of the Scottish town of Prestwick and 50 km (32 miles) southwest from Glasgow. Prestwick Airport is Glasgow’s second airport after Glasgow Airport. It is the fifth busiest airport in Scotland, handling nearly 700,000 passengers in 2017 from its peak of 2.4 million in 2007. Due to its geography and benign weather conditions, the airport experiences much lower incidences of fog than other airports in the UK and therefore has the reputation of being ‘Britain's only fog-free airport’. Currently the only airline operating at the airport is Ryanair. Ground transport from Glasgow Prestwick Airport includes trains, buses, taxis and car rentals.
