Inverness Airport, Scotland

Inverness Airport (IATA: INV) is an international airport situated in the northeastern corner of Scotland in the Scottish Highlands. The airport is about 13 km (8 miles) northeast from the city of Inverness and often regarded as the ‘capital’ of the Scottish Highlands. Inverness Airport is the main gateway to Scotland’s northern region and handled 875,000 passengers in 2017. The airport is also a major base for flights to the Orkney Islands, Shetland Islands and Outer Hebrides situated off the coast of Scotland. Inverness Airport comprises of a single runway and one passenger terminal for arrivals and departures. Ground transport from the airport includes buses, taxis and car rentals.

 
 

Airlines & Flights

The main airlines operating at Inverness Airport are Flybe, EasyJet and Loganair. Flybe operates scheduled flights to Belfast and Birmingham and seasonal flights to Jersey. EasyJet operates scheduled flights to Bristol and London (Gatwick Airport and London Luton Airport). Longanair operates scheduled flights to Benbecula, Dublin, Kirkwall, Manchester, Stornoway and Sumburgh. Other airlines include British Airways (London) and KLM (Amsterdam).

Ground Transport

Stagecoach operates the Jet Bus Service departing frequently from Inverness Airport to Inverness, Nairn, Forres and Elgin. In Inverness, the bus stops in the city centre which is close to Inverness railway station. Trains at the station connect with the cities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and London. Taxis are available outside the terminal building. Car rental companies at the airport include Avis, Budget and Europcar.
